Classes run Monday to Friday, 9:30am – 4:00pm. We observe all Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur and Malaysian national public holidays. The full calendar is shared upon enrolment.

The IEP runs on a rolling intake, new students can join at the start of each term, which begins every two months throughout the year. For exact intake dates, visit our Academic Calendar.

GL Academy observes all Malaysian federal public holidays as well as scheduled term breaks. The full holiday and school closure schedule is published on our Academic Calendar.

The IEP is a full-time intensive English course Kuala Lumpur learners join for university admission, career advancement, everyday communication or IELTS preparation, and it is designed for any adult who wants to improve their English. We welcome students from all backgrounds and provide structured guidance to improve your overall English proficiency across all CEFR levels.

Our students come from all over the world. We have welcomed students from Korea, Japan, China, the Middle East, Europe, South America, and many more. Studying alongside students from 30+ nationalities is itself part of the GL Academy experience, you practise real international communication every day.

All IEP classes are taught by qualified native English-speaking teachers holding internationally recognised teaching certifications, TESOL, TEFL, or CELTA. You will learn natural pronunciation, rhythm, and authentic English expression from your very first lesson.

We deliberately keep our classes small to ensure every student gets direct, personalised attention from their teacher. Our priority is always the learner, class sizes are managed so that no student is left behind or overlooked.

Yes. Every new student takes an accurate placement test before their first class. This determines your starting GL Academy level and the corresponding CEFR band, so you're placed in exactly the right class from day one, not too easy and not too challenging.

Each level includes two formal assessments: a mid-term and a final. These give you a clear picture of your progress and determine whether you are ready to advance. Your teacher will also provide ongoing feedback throughout the term so there are never any surprises.

Yes. GL Academy is authorised to apply for your Malaysian Student Pass through Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS) for courses of 4 months or more, so a full-time intensive English course Kuala Lumpur students book for at least four months is eligible. Yes. All 30+ of our partner units are within 10 minutes' walk of GL Academy, with options from shared apartments to private apartments and hotels. Our student services team helps you choose.
