Welcome

A conversation class, not a coursebook class

The Daily Conversational Class (DCC) is built around one goal: getting you talking. Every lesson is conversation-driven, so you use English with real people on real topics — not working silently through a textbook. Pitched at intermediate (B1) level, with built-in support for elementary (A2) learners and extension for upper-intermediate (B2) speakers, so every class meets you where you are.

What you’ll be able to do

These outcomes map to the CEFR B1 can-do descriptors for spoken interaction and production — practical speaking skills you’ll actually use.

  1. 1

    Hold real conversations

Keep conversations going on familiar topics — without freezing up.

  2. 2

    Share and defend opinions

Express and justify opinions, and respond to agreement and disagreement.

  3. 3

    Handle real-world situations

Order food, ask for help, make plans and give advice in everyday situations.

  4. 4

    Tell stories and describe plans

Narrate experiences and describe plans with natural, connected speech.

  5. 5

    Recover and repair

Use repair strategies — “Sorry, what I mean is…” — to keep talking when stuck.

“The goal isn’t a perfect sentence — it’s a real conversation.”

What you’ll talk about

8 weeks, 8 themes

Each week takes a familiar theme across three sessions — building vocabulary, functional language and a signature speaking activity. Language from earlier weeks is recycled throughout, so it sticks. Tap any week for the details.

Assessment

Progress you can feel

This is a fluency class, not an exam factory. Assessment is formative and continuous — you’ll always know how you’re progressing and what to work on next.

Ongoing observation

Light notes every session on participation, range and risk-taking — feedback as you go.

Mid-course check · Session 12

A short assessed pair conversation, with targeted goals shared just for you.

End-of-course task · Session 24

A 3–4 minute prepared talk on a topic you choose, plus 2 minutes of unscripted Q&A.

Assessed for: Fluency · Vocabulary range · Accuracy · Pronunciation · Interaction
