GL Education Group Sdn Bhd operates Global Leaders Academy (GL Academy), a Ministry of Education-recognised English language school and academic development centre in Plaza Mont Kiara, Kuala Lumpur. GL Academy serves a diverse international student body, offering English language programmes, IELTS preparation, and conversational English courses, using internationally recognised curricula such as Headway, English File, Speakout, Evolve, and Touchstone.


Position Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic and qualified Native English Teacher to deliver high-quality English language instruction to students of varying ages and proficiency levels. The successful candidate will design and deliver engaging lessons, assess student progress, and contribute to the Academy's academic materials and programmes.


Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver English language lessons across various levels (beginner to advanced), including general English, IELTS preparation, and conversational English, as required.
  • Assess and provide feedback on student work, including IELTS writing samples, assignments, and progress tests.
  • Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, and assessments aligned with the Academy's curriculum and branded course materials.
  • Monitor and report on student progress, providing regular feedback to students, parents, and academic management.
  • Create a supportive, engaging, and culturally inclusive classroom environment for an international student body.
  • Participate in curriculum development, textbook evaluation, and academic material creation as needed.
  • Support academy events, summer camps, and other academic programmes as required.
  • Maintain accurate attendance, grading, and student progress records.
  • Collaborate with fellow teachers and academic staff to maintain consistent teaching standards across the Academy.

Requirements

  • Native English speaker (from a recognised native English-speaking country) or equivalent native-level fluency.
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, English, Linguistics, or a related field preferred.
  • TEFL/TESOL/CELTA certification (minimum 120 hours) or equivalent teaching qualification required.
  • Prior teaching experience, particularly with international or ESL students, preferred.
  • Experience teaching IELTS preparation is an advantage.
  • Strong classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Genuine passion for education and working with students from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Eligible to stay in Malaysia.
