GL Education Group Sdn Bhd operates Global Leaders Academy (GL Academy), a Ministry of Education-recognised English language school and academic development centre based in Plaza Mont Kiara, Kuala Lumpur. GL Academy serves a diverse, international student base and is committed to high standards of academic delivery, compliance, and workplace culture as the school continues to grow, including plans for expansion into new locations.



Position Summary


The HR Manager will be responsible for managing the full spectrum of human resources functions at GL Academy, including recruitment, employee relations, compliance, payroll coordination, HR documentation, and policy implementation. This role is critical in supporting a growing team of teaching and administrative staff, and in ensuring the organisation's HR practices align with Malaysian labour law and company standards.



Key Responsibilities


  • Manage end-to-end recruitment processes, including job postings, screening, interviewing, and onboarding of teaching and non-teaching staff.
  • Draft, review, and maintain employment contracts, offer letters, and HR policy documents in compliance with Malaysian Employment Act requirements.
  • Coordinate monthly payroll processing, EPF, SOCSO, EIS, and income tax (PCB) submissions in collaboration with finance/accounting.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, including leave, attendance, and performance documentation.
  • Handle employee relations matters, including grievances, disciplinary processes, and conflict resolution, in a fair and legally compliant manner.
  • Support the development and implementation of HR policies, staff handbooks, and standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements including work permits/visas for foreign staff, where applicable.
  • Coordinate staff training, performance appraisals, and professional development initiatives.
  • Assist management with manpower planning as the school expands operations, including new branches.
  • Foster a positive workplace culture aligned with GL Academy's values and educational mission.
  • Liaise with government bodies and agencies as needed (e.g., JTKSM, KWSP, PERKESO, Immigration Department).


Requirements


  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of relevant HR experience; experience in an educational institution or SME environment is an advantage (optional)
  • Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Strong working knowledge of Malaysian labour laws and statutory HR compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in payroll systems and HR software/tools.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills.
  • High level of discretion and integrity in handling confidential information.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a growing organisation.
  • Proficiency in English is required; additional language skills (Mandarin, Bahasa Malaysia, or others) are an advantage given the school's international student base.
